MetLife Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, which does business as MetLife, regarding its recent data breach. The MetLife data breach involved sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On June 6, 2025, MetLife reported to the Attorney General of Texas that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party. As of June 6, 2025, details of the breach have not been made publicly available by MetLife. While not much is known about the breach, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
