Today, OSC provides care for the full range of orthopaedic conditions, from sprains and fractures to ligament tears and arthritis.3 Additionally, OSC provides digital radiology, ultrasound, physical therapy, and pain management services within its office.3 Headquartered in Brookfield, Connecticut, OSC has an additional location in Stamford, Connecticut, and employs over 10 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, OSC announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, OSC recently discovered that it had experienced a network security incident.1 As a result, OSC launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, OSC confirmed that sensitive personal information belonging to patients may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party on March 2, 2025. As a result, OSC began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Medical information
- Health insurance ID number
On April 23, 2025, OSC posted a notice of the incident on its website. Additionally, OSC plans to send breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the website breach notice, OSC is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
