Rock Solid Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Rock Solid Stabilization & Reclamation, Inc. (“Rock Solid”) regarding its recent data breach. The Rock Solid data breach involved sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

ABOUT ROCK SOLID STABILZATION & RECLAMATION, INC.:

Rock Solid is a full-service soil stabilization / modification and pulverization contractor based in Wisconsin. Founded in 2007, Rock Solid treats unsuitable subgrade, aggregate base, and deteriorating pavements with stabilizing agents such as portland cement, lime kiln dust, fly ash, asphalt emulsion and more.2 Additionally, Rock Solid pulverizes asphalt, perform full depth reclamation, cement treated base, cold in-place recycling, and provide dry bulk trucking.2 Headquartered in Genoa City, Wisconsin, Rock Solid employs over 50 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Rock Solid reported to the Attorney General of Montana that the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been accessed. According to the breach notice, on February 2, 2025, Rock Solid learned that an unknown actor had gained access to its computer environment.1 As a result, Rock Solid launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, Rock Solid confirmed that sensitive personal information in certain files in its network may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, Rock Solid began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. The exact type of personal information potentially exposed has not been made publicly available by Rock Solid. However, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number, state identification number, or tribal identification number
  • Account number or credit or debit card number, in combination with any required security code, access code, or password that would permit access to an individual’s financial account
  • Medical record information
  • Taxpayer identification number
  • An identity protection personal identification number issued by the United States internal revenue service

 

On March 20, 2025, Rock Solid began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to Montana residents, Rock Solid is providing affected individuals with a list of the information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
