WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Todd & Weld reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, Todd & Weld recently detected unauthorized access to two employee email accounts as a result of a phishing email.1 As a result, Todd & Weld launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Todd & Weld confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party between September 30, 2024, and October 23, 2024. As a result, Todd & Weld began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Financial account information
- Credit/debit card number
- Medical records
On March 26, 2025, Todd & Weld began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to the Massachusetts residents, Todd & Weld is providing affected individuals with a list of the information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
