Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Georgia Urology (“GA Urology”) regarding its recent data breach. The GA Urology data breach involved sensitive personal information and protected health information belonging to an unknown number of individuals.

GA Urology is a urology practice in Atlanta and southeast Georgia. Caring for all ages, GA Urology treats a full spectrum of urologic conditions, specializing in urologic cancers, overactive bladders, enlarged prostates, urinary tract infections, and sexual wellness issues.2 Additionally, GA Urology helps patients with incontinence, pelvic floor prolapse, and kidney stones. Headquartered in Acworth, Georgia, GA Urology has over 30 clinics and ambulatory surgery centers and employs over 500 individuals.3,4
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, GA Urology announced that the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on or about October 25, 2024, GA Urology discovered unusual activity associated with two employee email accounts.1 As a result, GA Urology launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, GA Urology confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems belonging to patients may have been viewed and obtained by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, GA Urology began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. This review was completed on March 5, 2025. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Driver’s license number
- Date of birth
- Health insurance information
- Medical information (treatment or diagnosis information, medical history information, COVID vaccination information)
On March 27, 2025, GA Urology posted a notice of the incident on its website. Additionally, GA Urology began sending breach notification letters to impacted individuals the same day. Based on the website breach notice, GA Urology is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
