UAS is a financial services company located in New York, New York. Founded in 1998, UAS serves individuals, groups, and institutions, such as clients and their extended families, foundations, trusts, and pension plans.2 Today, UAS manages a variety of accounts, including retirement accounts like IRAs and 401ks, institutional accounts like endowments and public pension plans, and individual or joint investment accounts.2,3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, UAS reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on March 13, 2025, UAS became aware of a potential data breach.1 As a result, UAS launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, UAS confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, UAS began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Financial account information
- Driver’s license
- Email address
- Phone number
On March 19, 2025, UAS began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to the Massachusetts residents, UAS is providing affected individuals with a list of the information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
