WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Folger Levin announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been accessed. According to the breach notice, Folger Levin recently discovered that it had experienced a data security incident.1 As a result, Folger Levin launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, on December 16, 2024, Folger Levin confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems associated with matters it has represented may have been compromised during the breach. As a result, Folger Levin began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
On March 20, 2025, Folger Levin began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to the Massachusetts residents, Folger Levin is providing affected individuals with a list of the information impacted and 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
