Auxis is a management consulting and outsourcing firm based in Florida. Founded in 1997, Auxis’ areas of focus include nearshore outsourcing, cloud computing, shared services, RPA, help desk and desktop support, and finance and accounting.2 Additionally, over the years Auxis has added partners like UiPath, Oracle NetSuite, and Microsoft to help expand its services into areas such as information technology, human resources, intelligent automation, revenue cycle management, and loan processing.3 Headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Auxis has additional locations in Costa Rica and Columbia, and employs over 1,000 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Auxis reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed or acquired. According to the breach notice, on November 23, 2024, Auxis became aware of suspicious activity on its computer network. 1 As a result, Auxis launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Auxis confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems belonging to employees may have been viewed and obtained by an unauthorized third party between November 21 and November 23, 2024. As a result, Auxis began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Date of birth
- Health insurance information
On or about February 14, 2025, Auxis began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, Auxis is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
