Founded in 1990, Iannuzzi Manetta provides a variety of services, including accounting and assurance, tax compliance and planning, wealth management, retirement planning, bookkeeping, and more.3 Today, Iannuzzi Manetta offers these services to high net worth individuals and businesses in a range of industries, such as construction, healthcare, manufacturing and distribution, professional services, and real estate.4  Headquartered in Troy, Michigan, Iannuzzi Manetta employs over 10 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Iannuzzi Manetta reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. According to the breach notice, on August 1, 2024, Iannuzzi Manetta discovered that its network had been encrypted by unknown threat actors, effectively shutting down all operations and access to its servers.1 As a result, Iannuzzi Manetta launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, Iannuzzi Manetta confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party as early as July 15, 2024. As a result, Iannuzzi Manetta began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social security number
  • Address
  • Driver’s license number
  • Financial account number
  • Medical record number
  • Patient account number
  • Health insurance policy information

 

On January 17, 2025, Iannuzzi Manetta began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, Iannuzzi Manetta is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
