WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Rivers Philadelphia reported to the Attorney General of Vermont that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, Rivers Philadelphia recently responded to and investigated an incident involving unauthorized access to certain systems.
Through its investigation, Rivers Philadelphia confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed or acquired by an unauthorized third party. Rivers Philadelphia is the only Rivers Casino location that was involved in the breach. In a review of affected data concluding on November 18, 2024, Rivers Philadelphia determined what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Bank account information used for direct deposit
On December 30, 2024, Rivers Philadelphia began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to the Vermont residents, Rivers Philadelphia is providing affected individuals with a list of the information impacted and 12 months of complimentary identity monitoring services.
