WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Crown Mortgage reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. In the form breach notice, Crown Mortgage does not elaborate on the nature of the security incident that impacted its systems. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

- Social Security number
On December 20, 2024, Crown Mortgage began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notices provided to the Massachusetts residents, Crown Mortgage is providing affected individuals with a list of the information impacted and 24 months of complimentary identity monitoring services.
