Live Comfortably fka Keeco Home Data Breach Investigation

The Keeco data breach involved sensitive personal information and protected health information belonging to over 4,200 individuals.

Live Comfortably is a textile manufacturing company based in Florida. Founded in 1976, Live Comfortably manufactures and distributes pillows, comforters, mattress pads, and more to retailers and hotels worldwide.3 Today, Live Comfortably’s licensed brands include Serta, Kate Spade, Calvin Klien, Restful Nights, Protect-A-Bed, and more.4 Headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, Live Comfortably has six additional locations across the United States and employs over 500 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Keeco reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, Keeco experienced security incident involving unauthorized access to its network.1 As a result, Keeco launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, Keeco confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised between March 28, 2024, and May 19, 2024. As a result, Keeco began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Financial information (e.g., account number, credit or debit card number)
  • Medical information
  • Health insurance information

 

On December 17, 2024, Keeco began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, Keeco is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
