Red Nucleus Data Breach Investigation

Founded in 1991, Red Nucleus offers a full suite of products and services in the creation of life science products, from scientific and advisory services, market access, medical communications, and learning and development.2 Examples of Red Nucleus’ services include Partner Vault, a Regulatory Information Management program, UNIFY GameLab, a game authoring platform for training reinforcement, and iTakeControl, a comprehensive mobile platform for decentralized research trials, evidence-based research, and learning programs.3 Headquartered in Yardley, Pennsylvania, Red Nucleus has 11 additional locations across nine countries and employs over 800 individuals.3

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Red Nucleus reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. In the form breach notice, Red Nucleus does not elaborate on the nature of the security incident that impacted its systems. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license number
  • Financial account information

 

On September 4, 2024, Red Nucleus began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. A link to the form breach notification letter that Red Nucleus filed with the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is below.
