LOGE Camps Data Breach Investigation

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Loge Holdings, LLC, which does business as LOGE Camps (“LOGE”), regarding its recent data breach. The LOGE data breach may have involved sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

LOGE is a hospitality and hotel company based in Washington. Founded in 2016, LOGE finds forgotten motels near towns and trails, and brings them back to life with a variety of ways to stay, including hotel rooms, hostel bunks, and campsites.3 Inspired by the surf, climbing and camping culture of the 70’s and the relaxed energy of a road trip with friends, LOGE’s mission is to inspire people to get out and explore together.3 Today, LOGE’s sponsorship partners include The Surfrider Foundation, Northwest Avalanche Association, Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, and Central Oregon Trail Association.3 Headquartered in North Bend, Washington, LOGE employs over 10 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, LOGE announced that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on December 15, 2023, LOGE identified suspicious activity within its email environment. As a result, LOGE launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, LOGE learned that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been compromised by an unauthorized third-party using company email accounts between November 27, 2023, and December 15, 2023. As a result, LOGE began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:  

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Driver’s license and passport number
  • Financial account information
  • Payment card information
  • Medical information
  • Health information
  • Electronic signature

 

As a result of the data breach, LOGE posted a notice of the incident on its website. Additionally, on August 23, 2024, LOGE mailed data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice on its website, LOGE is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific type of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
