WHAT HAPPENED?
On December 3, 2023, Intrepid Museum discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Intrepid Museum determined that on December 2, 2023, an unauthorized third party gained access to parts of its network and downloaded copies of some of its files. As a result, Intrepid Museum reviewed the impacted files and determined that they contained data of current or former employees, interns, or contractors; dependents of employees; or visitors and camp attendees. On June 10, 2024, Intrepid Museum began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. As of June 14, 2024, Intrepid Museum has not made public the kinds of information that have been exposed.
