WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Cherry Health discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Cherry Health determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information on December 21, 2023. On February 15, 2024, Cherry Health began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted and on April 16, 2024, Cherry Health sent out additional notices to potentially affected individuals. The type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Date of birth
- Contact information
- Financial account information
- Medical information (e.g., patient ID number, provider name, service date, diagnosis/treatment information, prescription information)
- Health insurance information (e.g., health insurance ID number)
