WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Lexington Medical Center discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Lexington Medical Center determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information through an employee’s email account and individual data drive on October 4, 2023. On February 12, 2024, Lexington Medical Center began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Medical information (e.g., medical record number, patient charge descriptor information)
- Health insurance information
