Summitt Trucking is a truck transportation company operating in the United States. As a trucking company, Summit Trucking transports large quantities of goods across the continental United States. Founded in 1983, Summitt Trucking began as a local trucking and transportation company known as Bestway. In 2003, Bestway was renamed Summitt Trucking and has grown into a company with over 750 trucks and 1,000 trailers. Headquartered in Clarksville, Indiana, Summitt Trucking employes approximately 160 drivers and 120 individuals working in-office.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On November 16, 2022, Summitt Trucking discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Summitt Trucking determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information between November 1 and November 16, 2022 through an employee email account. On April 27, 2023, Summitt Trucking began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
