Alvaria Data Breach Investigation

Headquartered in Westford, Massachusetts, Alvaria operates 32 offices across North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Alvaria employs more than 1,000 individuals and manages an annual revenue of over $400 million.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On November 28, 2022, Alvaria experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, Alvaria determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information by launching a ransomware attack. On December 21, 2022, Alvaria learned that the unauthorized actors had released corporate record information onto the dark web. On February 22, 2023, Alvaria began contacting individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Passport number
  • Financial account information
  • Tax information
  • Health insurance information
