Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating WSRP, LLC, regarding its recent data breach. The WSRP data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to an undisclosed number of individuals.

ABOUT WSRP, LLC:

WSRP is a certified public accounting firm. WSRP specializes in offering tax, assurance, consulting, auditing, and business valuation services. Founded by in 1985, WSRP has grown from a small, six-person firm, to one of the largest CPA firms in Utah with over 100 employees and 15 partners. Today, WSRP is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, with a second office located in Ogden, Utah. While WSRP is primarily Utah-based, the firm work with clients in a variety of industries across the United States.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On June 14, 2022, WSRP discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, WSRP determined that an unauthorized actor gained access to this sensitive information at various times between April 21 and April 28, 2022, and again on May 26, 2022. On July 29, 2022, WSRP began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth
  • Driver’s license number
  • Passport number
  • Financial information (e.g., account number, credit or debit card number)
  • Health insurance information
  • Medical information
  • Electronic signature
  • Military identification
