WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Kids Care discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Kids Care determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information on or about June 15, 2023. On March 7, 2024, Kids Care began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license or state ID number
- Date of birth
- Medical information (e.g., diagnosis, diagnosis code, treatment information, provider name, treatment location)
- Health insurance information (e.g., billing/claim information, health benefit plan number, subscriber member number)
