A full-service medical practice, MOS offers a wide range of medical services, including orthopaedic surgery, physical and occupational therapy, medical imaging, and access to durable medical equipment. Headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, MOS has 22 additional locations in Michigan and employs over 50 individuals.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On June 29, 2023, MOS discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed. Through its investigation, MOS determined that an unknown, unauthorized third-party may have accessed this sensitive information through an employee’s email account between May 5, 2023, and June 21, 2023. On December 19, 2023, MOS began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Financial account number
- Username and password
- Medical information (e.g., diagnosis, lab results, prescription information)
- Health insurance information
