WHAT HAPPENED?
On February 21, 2024, Moffitt was informed that its third-party service provider, Advarra, Inc., had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to Moffitt patients may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Advarra determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this sensitive information on October 25, 2023. On April 23, 2024, Moffitt began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
