Worthen is a chemical manufacturing company based in New Hampshire. Founded in 1866, Worthen manufactures specialty adhesives, coatings, coated flexible substrates, and thermoplastic extrusion for diversified markets.2 Today, Worthen provides solutions for a wide range of industries, including packaging, renewable energy, textiles, industrial, transportation, ropes and cordage, aerospace, apparel, automotive, construction, food packaging, furniture, medical, and military. Headquartered in Nashua, New Hampshire, Worthen has 11 additional locations in North America and Asia and employs over 300 individuals.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On January 13, 2024, Worthen discovered that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired. Through its investigation, Worthen determined that an unauthorized actor may have accessed this information between December 28, 2023, and January 14, 2024. On April 10, 2024, Worthen began notifying individuals whose information may have been impacted. The type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Passport number
  • Health insurance information
