Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating VPS Medical PLLC, which does business as Vantage Plastic Surgery (“VPS”), regarding its recent data breach. The VPS data breach involved sensitive personal information and protected health information belonging to over 4,500 individuals.
ABOUT VPS MEDICAL PLLC D/B/A VANTAGE PLASTIC SURGERY:
VPS is a plastic surgery center based in New York. Today, VPS provides a range of plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures to patients, including lip procedures, injectables, facial reconstructive surgery, scar removal, and more.2 Headquartered in New York, New York, VPS’s founder also provides plastic surgery services through the Kings County Hospital.2
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, VPS announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice shared on its website, on January 15, 2026, VPS learned that an unauthorized party had gained access to computer systems containing patient information.1 As a result, VPS launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, VPS confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems related to patients may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, VPS began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Contact information (home address, phone number, email address)
- Date of birth
- Medical record information
On February 14, 2026, VPS posted notice of the breach on its website. Additionally, on February 13, 2026, VPS filed official notice of the data breach with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights.3 Based on the website breach notice, VPS is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
