Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Retail Merchandising Services, Inc. (“RMS”) regarding its recent data breach. The RMS data breach involved sensitive personal information belonging to over 16,000 individuals.

RMS is a visual merchandising and display company based in Minnesota. Founded in 1985, RMS provides in-store visual merchandising and displays for a variety of products, including groceries, drugs and pharmaceuticals, hardware, health and beauty products, apparel, accessories, and more.2,3 Headquartered in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, RMS employs over 1,000 individuals.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, RMS reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, in January 2026, RMS detected unusual activity within its email environment.1 As a result, RMS launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, RMS confirmed that sensitive personal information in the emails may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party between November 24, 2025 and January 7, 2026. As a result, RMS began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Account number
- Routing number
On March 16, 2026, RMS began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to New Hampshire residents, RMS is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
