WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Lohmann reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on January 27, 2026, Lohmann identified an IT security incident at its parent company’s facility in Neuwied, Germany that affected certain systems for Lohmann located in the United States.1 As a result, Lohmann launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Lohmann confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems related to employees may have been compromised by an unauthorized third party between during the breach. As a result, Lohmann began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license number
- Passport number or other government issued identification number
- Benefit plan information
- Insurance plan information
- Financial account number
On March 13, 2026, Lohmann began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to New Hampshire residents, Lohmann is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
