Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating H&N Tax, Inc., which does business as CSA Tax (“CSA”), regarding its recent data breach. The CSA data breach involved sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

CSA is a tax and accounting advisory company based in Massachusetts. Today, CSA provides a range of tax and accounting services to individuals and businesses, including personal financial planning, estate planning, payroll services, cash flow management, succession planning, tax preparation, business valuation, and more.2 Headquartered in Haverhill, Massachusetts, CSA employs approximately five individuals.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, CSA reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on or around December 2, 2025, CSA experienced a network disruption that impacted certain systems.1 As a result, CSA launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, CSA confirmed that sensitive personal information in its network may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, CSA began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
On February 20, 2026, CSA began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, CSA is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
