Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Partner in Publishing LLC (“PIP”) regarding its recent data breach. The PIP data breach involved sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

PIP is a marketing and business development agency for the education technology industry based in Connecticut. Founded in 2007, PIP provides a range of marketing and business development services for education technology and publishing companies working in K-12, higher education, workforce development, and corporate training.2,3 Services offered by PIP include brand awareness/development, digital marketing, market research, talent acquisition video production, web development, and more.2 Additionally, PIP has provided services to companies such as Chegg, Conversifi, Cengage Learning, Moder Campus, Alchemie, Pearson Education, Lego Education, etc.2,3 Headquartered in Glastonbury, Connecticut, PIP employs over 50 individuals.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, PIP reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, PIP learned that an unauthorized party gained access to one of its employee email accounts.1 As a result, PIP launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, PIP confirmed that sensitive personal information in the emails may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party between August 4 and August 14, 2025. As a result, PIP began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
On January 23, 2026, PIP began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to New Hampshire residents, PIP is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
