Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Bayou Media Development, LLC (“Bayou”) regarding its recent data breach. The Bayou data breach involved sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

Bayou is an information technology and services company based in Louisiana. Founded in 2012, Bayou specializes in providing a range of information technology software and applications to law enforcement, casino security, and other security operations, including software for incident reporting, e-warrants, e-citations, case management tracking, and more.2,3,4 Applications created by Bayou include !nService, CiteNow, WritNow, etc.2 Headquartered in Mandeville, Louisiana, Bayou’s software has been used in over 240,000 officer engagements.4
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Bayou reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on September 29, 2025, Bayou learned of potentially unauthorized access to a web-hosting service it uses to store data related to its product offerings.1 As a result, Bayou launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Bayou confirmed that sensitive personal information in its care related to Parkwest Bicycle Casino (“PBC”) may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, Bayou began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. As of February 5, 2026, the exact type of personal information potentially exposed has not been made publicly available by Bayou. However, according to Maine state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license or state identification card number
- Account number, credit card number or debit card number, if circumstances exist wherein such a number could be used without additional identifying information, access codes or passwords
- Account passwords or personal identification numbers or other access codes
On January 20, 2026, Bayou began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, Bayou and PBC are providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
