Founded in 2009, Apro owns, supplies, and operates a range of gas stations and convenience stores in the Western United States, including providing fuel under 76, Conoco, Phillips 66, Shell, Chevron, and United Oil brands, as well as offering convenience items through Rocket.2,3,4 Headquartered in Long Beach, California, Apro employs over 3,500 individuals and operates more than 450 locations across California, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado.3,4
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Apro reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on May 24, 2025, Apro learned of indications that an unauthorized third party accessed certain Apro systems.1 As a result, Apro launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Apro confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party between May 23 and May 24, 2025. As a result, Apro began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:5
- Name
- Social Security number
On December 29, 2025, Apro began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, Apro is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
