Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Davies, McFarland & Carroll LLC (“DM&C”) regarding its recent data breach. The DM&C data breach involved sensitive personal information and protected health information belonging to over 54,000 individuals.

Operating for over 100 years, DM&C provides clients with legal services across a range of practice areas, including business/commercial litigation, product litigation, civil litigation, insurance defense, professional liability and misconduct claims, and more.2,4 Headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, DM&C employs over 10 individuals.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, DM&C announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice shared on its website, on or about May 22, 2025, DM&C learned that an unauthorized party obtained access to its internal records.1 As a result, DM&C launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, DM&C confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and/or acquired by an unauthorized third party between May 19 and May 22, 2025. As a result, DM&C began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Address
- Date of birth
- Medical treatment or history
- Health insurance information
As a result of the breach, DM&C posted notice of the breach on its website. Additionally, on November 24, 2025, DM&C began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the website breach notice, DM&C is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
