Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating LaBella Associates (“LaBella”) regarding its recent data breach. The LaBella data breach involved sensitive personal information belonging to over 6,700 individuals.

Founded in 1978, LaBella provides a range of architecture, engineering, and construction planning services to clients, including civil engineering, environmental consulting, interior design, landscape architecture, power systems engineering, and more.2,3 Projects and markets serviced by LaBella include parks, museums, transportation centers, school districts, energy facilities, housing, etc.2 Headquartered in Rochester, New York, LaBella employs over 2,000 individuals and has completed projects in the eastern United States, Spain, and the UK.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, LaBella reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on or around March 24, 2025, LaBella became aware of certain unauthorized activity within its computer systems.1 As a result, LaBella launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, LaBella confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, LaBella began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:4
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license information
- Financial account information
On November 12, LaBella began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, LaBella is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
