Founded in 1978, BKV Group offers various services such as interior design, urban design, and landscape architecture.2 Headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, BKV Group employs over 200 individuals and has additional locations in Dallas, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Vietnam.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, BKV Group reported to the Attorney General of Massachusetts that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on September 3, 2025, BKV Group experienced a network disruption that affected its ability to access certain systems.1 As a result, BKV Group launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, BKV Group confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party on or around September 2, 2025. As a result, BKV Group began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
As a result of the breach, BKV Group began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Massachusetts residents, BKV Group is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
