George E. Weems Memorial Hospital Data Breach Investigation

Recently, Weems Memorial Hospital announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, Weems Memorial Hospital recently learned that two employee email accounts were accessed by an unauthorized party.¹ As a result, Weems Memorial Hospital launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
