River City Eye Care Data Breach Investigation

Recently, River City Eye announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on or around September 8, 2025, certain files were copied from River City Eye’s network.¹ As a result, River City Eye launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, River City Eye confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, River City Eye began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On October 1, 2025, River City Eye completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

• Name
• Social Security number
• Address
• Email address
• Phone number
• Date of birth
• Driver’s license number

As a result of the breach, River City Eye posted notice of the breach on its website. Based on the breach notice sent, River City Eye is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted. A link to the website breach notice is below.
