WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, Vibra Hospital of Sacramento announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on or around March 13, 2025, Vibra Hospital of Sacramento discovered suspicious activity related to several employee email accounts. 1 As a result, Vibra Hospital of Sacramento launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, Vibra Hospital of Sacramento confirmed that sensitive personal information in the emails may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party between March 12, 2025, and March 22, 2025. As a result, Vibra Hospital of Sacramento began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On August 4, 2025, Vibra Hospital of Sacramento completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Addresses
  • Date of birth
  • Medical information (date of medical service, medical diagnosis information, physician or medical facility information, medical condition or treatment information)
  • Health insurance information (individual health insurance policy number, Medicare or Medicaid number, patient account)
  • Financial account number

 

On October 3, 2025, Vibra Hospital of Sacramento posted notice of the breach on its website.
