WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, it was reported by an online source that Archer Health, Inc. had experienced a cybersecurity incident impacting the privacy of its data. According to this source, a cybersecurity researcher discovered a publicly exposed database that contained records belonging to Archer Health.1 The database was unencrypted and not password protected, and included approximately 145,000 files such as assessments, home health certificates, discharge forms, and internal documents.1 In a sampling of the exposed database, the researcher found medical documents that contained names, patient ID numbers, Social Security numbers, physical addresses, phone numbers, and more.1 Both the files involved and the name of the database itself suggested the records belonged to Archer Health.1
According to the source, the researcher notified Archer Health of the exposure and within hours the database was no longer accessible.1 Archer Health responded to the researcher’s responsible disclosure notice, stating “Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We take data security and patient privacy very seriously. Our team is actively investigating this matter and will address any security issues promptly.”1 As of September 26, 2025, Archer Health has not otherwise acknowledged the data exposure or confirmed whether the incident resulted in a data breach.
