Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Neubert, Pepe & Monteith, P.C. (“NP&M”) regarding its recent data breach. The NP&M data breach may have involved sensitive personal identifiable information belonging to over 4,900 individuals.

NP&M is a general practice law firm based in Connecticut. Founded in 1993, NP&M provides legal services for a range of clients, including financial institutions, small to medium-sized businesses, publicly-held corporations, hospitals, municipalities, insurance companies, universities, and nonprofits, as well as professionals such as physicians, lawyers, architects, engineers, and real estate agents.3 Headquartered in New Haven and Hartford, Connecticut, NP&M employs over 50 individuals and has additional offices in Fairfield, Connecticut and White Plains, New York.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, NP&M reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on April 8, 2024, NP&M was alerted to potentially suspicious activity within its network.1 As a result, NP&M launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, NP&M confirmed that the sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and/or acquired by an unauthorized third party on March 1, 2024.1 As a result, NP&M began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On September 9, 2025, NP&M completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
On September 15, 2025, NP&M began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice being sent to Maine residents, NP&M is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services. 1 A link to the letters that NP&M filed with the Attorney General of Maine is below.
