WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, The Reynolds and Reynolds Company shared that its subsidiary Motility experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice shared online, on August 19, 2025, Motility identified suspicious activity on its network.1 As a result, Motility launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its ongoing investigation, Motility has confirmed that the sensitive personal information of consumers may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party during the breach.1 As a result, Motility began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number
- Date of birth
On September 12, 2025, The Reynolds and Reynolds Company posted notice of the Motility data breach on its website. Based on the website breach, Motility is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services. 1 A link to the website breach notice is below.
