Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing Data Breach Investigation

WHAT HAPPENED?

Recently, RFK Racing announced that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on May 14, 2025, RFK Racing learned of suspicious activity in its environment.1 As a result, RFK Racing launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, RFK Racing confirmed that the sensitive personal information in its files may have been accessed or taken by an unauthorized third party during the breach.1 Consequently, RFK Racing began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Driver’s license or state identification number
  • Passport number
  • Financial account information
  • Health insurance information (such as claims and subscriber number)
  • Health and medical information
  • Date of birth
  • Address

As a result of the breach, RFK Racing posted notice to its website. Additionally, on September 12, 2025, RFK Racing began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice being sent to Massachusetts residents, RFK Racing is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services. 1 A link to breach notification letters that RFK Racing posted to its website is below.
