ABOUT NHB HOLDINGS, LLC AND ITS SUBSIDIARIES:
New Horizons Baking Company is a baked goods production company based in Ohio and is one part of the NHB Family of Brands, which also includes Genesis Baking Co and New Horizons Food Solutions.4 Founded in 1967 as the West Baking Company, New Horizons Baking Company is a hamburger bun and English muffin producer for over 5000 restaurants, food service facilities, and wholesale establishments.3 Another bakery, sister company Genesis Baking Co offers English muffins and rolls, as well as product development and supply chain optimization.5 The food science arm of the company, New Horizons Food Solutions produces customs formulations, packaging, and supply chain solutions for clients.6
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, New Horizons reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on January 11, 2025, New Horizons detected suspicious activity in its system environment.1 As a result, New Horizons launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, New Horizons confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed and acquired by an unauthorized third party between January 6 and January 10, 2025. As a result, New Horizons began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On July 11, 2025, New Horizons completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
On August 27, 2025, New Horizons began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to Maine residents, New Horizons is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.1 A link to the breach notice that New Horizons filed with the Attorney General of Maine is below.
