Northwest Dental is a dentistry and denture services company based in Washington. With a team of eight dentists and denturists, Northwest Dental services include family dentistry, dental implants, cosmetic dentistry (crowns, bridges, and veneers), full and immediate dentures, partial dentures, relines, implant-supported dentures, and restorative dentistry.2,3 With a location in Everett, Washington, Northwest Dental also has additional locations in Bellingham, Arlington, and Burlington, Washington.4
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Northwest Dental announced that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised.1 According to the breach notice posted on its website, on or about May 28, 2025, Northwest Dental became aware of suspicious activity on its network.1 As a result, Northwest Dental launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Northwest Dental determined that there was unauthorized access to Northwest Dental’s systems on May 27, 2025.1 As a result, Northwest Dental began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On June 27, 2025, Northwest Dental concluded its investigation. According to the breach notice, the sensitive personal information potentially affected includes the following types of information:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license number
- Address
- Health records
On July 25, 2025, Northwest Dental began providing notice to impacted individuals. Based on the notice sent to Maine residents, Northwest Dental is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted.
