Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Williamsburg Area Medical Assistance Corporation d/b/a Olde Towne Medical and Dental Center (“OTMDC”) regarding its recent data breach. The OTMDC data breach involved sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information belonging to over 2,500 patients.4

OTMDC is a rural healthcare system located in Virginia. Founded in 1993, OTMDC provides a range of primary and urgent care services, prenatal and specialty gynecology care, and dental care.2 Headquartered in Williamsburg, Virginia, OTMDC employs a dedicated staff of over 20 medical professionals.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
On July 11, 2025, OTMDC posted a notice on its website of a cyber event. According to the breach notice posted on its website, on May 15, 2025, OTMDC received a ransom note and discovered that an INC ransomware attack targeted OTMDC’s computer system.1 As a result, OTMDC launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, OTMDC determined that patient data was accessed and acquired by an unauthorized party. 1 As a result, OTMDC began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Medical diagnoses
