Freedom Square of Seminole Data Breach Investigation

Recently, Freedom Square of Seminole reported to the Attorney General of Maine that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. Based on the breach notice, Freedom Square Seminole discovered suspicious activity related to employee email accounts.¹ As a result, London Properties launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.

Through its investigation, Freedom Square Seminole confirmed that from September 9  to September 12, 2024, impacted email accounts and the data within were subject to unauthorized access.¹ On May 12, 2025, Freedom Square Seminole completed a thorough review of the contents of the impacted data set.¹ The types of information that may have been acquired and leaked for any individual patient varied by individual, but may have included:³

• Name
• Social Security number
• Address
• Date of birth
• Driver’s license number
• Financial account number
• Medical record number
• Passport number
• Health records
• Health insurance information

On July 11, 2025, Freedom Square of Seminole has began providing notice to impacted individuals. Based on the notice sent to Maine residents, Freedom Square of Seminole is providing affected individuals with complimentary credit monitoring services and identity protection services.
