WHAT HAPPENED?

On July 2, 2025, Maiorano & Associates reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on September 30, 2024, Maiorano & Associates launched an investigation into suspicious activity originating from an advisor’s email account.1

Through its investigation, Maiorano & Associates confirmed that sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in the advisor’s email account may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party between approximately August 9 and September 30, 2024.1 As a result, Maiorano & Associates began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Address
  • Date of birth
  • Driver’s license number
  • Financial account number
  • Health information
  • Other information related to the accounts Maiorano & Associates services

 

On July 2, 2025, Maiorano & Associates began mailing data breach notification letters to the impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to New Hampshire residents, Maiorano & Associates is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
