WHAT HAPPENED?
On June 30, 2025, ABS reported to the Attorney General of New Hampshire that it had experienced a data breach in which the sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, on February 3, 2025, ABS identified suspicious activity within the firm’s network.1 As a result, ABS launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, ABS confirmed that files containing sensitive personal information in its systems belonging to ABS clients may have been viewed and copied by an unauthorized third party.1 As a result, ABS reviewed the files in the folders that may have been involved and identified the type of information present and any individuals to whom the information was related.1 While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Financial account number
- Driver’s license number
On June 30, 2025, ABS began mailing data breach notification letters to the impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to New Hampshire residents, ABS is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and two years of complimentary credit monitoring services.
