WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Chapman & Roberts announced that the sensitive personal identifiable information and protected health information in its care may have been compromised. According to the breach notice, Chapman & Roberts recently experienced a network disruption that affected its ability to access certain systems.1 As a result, Chapman & Roberts launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, Chapman & Roberts confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems may have been accessed by an unauthorized third party on or around July 4, 2024. As a result, Chapman & Roberts began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted, as well as identify the specific individuals affected. On April 18, 2025, Chapman & Roberts completed this review. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Date of birth
- Driver’s license number
- Passport number
- Government identification number
- Financial account information
- Medical information
- Health insurance information
On May 1, 2025, Chapman & Roberts posted a notice of the incident on its website. Additionally, on the same date, Chapman & Roberts began sending breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the website breach notice, Chapman & Roberts will be providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and complimentary credit monitoring services.
