WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, Riverside Energy reported to the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, the unauthorized access occurred on February 4, 2025. 1 Beyond this, Riverside Energy does not elaborate on the nature of the security incident that impacted its systems. While the information impacted varies depending on the individual, the type of information potentially exposed includes:

- Social Security number
On May 5, 2025, Riverside Energy began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice, Riverside Energy is providing affected individuals with 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
