Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a leading data breach law firm, is investigating Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center (“The Center”) regarding its recent data breach. The Center data breach involved sensitive personal information belonging to an undetermined number of individuals.

The Center is an urban waterfront facility located in California. Founded in 1962, The Center provides over 400,000 square feet of event space, including an arena and an atrium, multiple terraces, theaters, exhibit halls, ballrooms and more.2,3 Today, The Center serves a variety of clients in renting space for special events, conventions, trade shows, and receptions.2 Headquarter in Long Beach, California, The Center employs over 500 individuals.3
WHAT HAPPENED?
Recently, The Center reported to the Attorney General of California that it had experienced a data breach in which sensitive personal identifiable information in its care may have been accessed and acquired. According to the breach notice, on December 7, 2024, The Center identified suspicious activity on its server.1 As a result, The Center launched an investigation to determine the nature of the incident.
Through its investigation, The Center confirmed that sensitive personal information in its systems was taken by an unauthorized third party during the breach. As a result, The Center began a review of the data to determine what information had been impacted as well as identify the specific individuals affected. The exact type of personal information has not been made publicly available by The Center. However, according to state reporting guidelines, “personal information” can include the following types of information:
- Name
- Social Security number
- Driver’s license number or other government issued identification number
- Financial information
- Account passwords or other access codes for financial accounts
- Biometric data
- Genetic information
- Health records, including medical diagnosis, treatment or health insurance policy number
On May 7, 2025, The Center began mailing data breach notification letters to impacted individuals. Based on the breach notice sent to California residents, The Center is providing affected individuals with a list of the specific types of sensitive information impacted and 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
